no no! lol 5w30 is good for cold beginning yes but for a high kilometre engine its not the ingredient to use, stick with 10w30
what proof execute you have actually to ago this up?????I only use 5w30 in all my vehicules and also they space all high mileage. All v 120,000 miles or more. I have actually never had any problems. If your high purpose of use engine devlops leaks as soon as using 5W30 then that is a an excellent thing. The is do you mindful of warn the end seals or gaskets. Convert to a more thickness oil to slow these leaks is stupid. If there is a difficulty fix it. Putting a bandaid on that doesn"t help anything

. I usage 5W30 in mine S10 going 5,000 miles between changes due to the fact that all my miles room highway miles. No problems whatsoever and it has actually been as cold as minus 10 a couple of times here in NE OH. My Autometer oil press gauge constantly reads end 50 psi during start up....
i usage SAE40 with around 2 bottles of engine honey. Due to the fact that if ns dont. Mine engine likes to piss the end abut a fifty percent a quart the oil every minute.. Yeah.. The got small bit of a leak..lol

Okay, i"ll admit defeat, in some ways, allow me clairify my point#1 i believe on the 2.8 the owners hands-on will to speak 10w30 OR power saving oil (5w30) the actual initial oil lid on the valve cover will certainly say 5w30IMHO the 5w30 will just not provide the protection that a slightly worn high purpose of use engine can have, to err ~ above the side of caution, i would recommend 10w30, in my opinion the will administer just fine begin up protection, we"re no talking a little 4 cyl engine here.so, use what girlfriend wish, i have actually no scientific proof to prove this, i might haul out the small viscosity charts however they wouldn"t nessicarly tell you to use either of these oils

we use 10w-30 in everything we own. Lawnmowers, quads, dirtbikes, cars, trucks, generator, etc. Whatever except my papa"s 2 hit quad.

older car? - 10w-30. Ns hear man Pare"s reasoning on 5w-30 and also how that can point out the problem spots (leaks, etc), - and also it renders sense if you"re an ext than the average day-to-day driver - save it pointer top.But really, most human being just want it come last reasonably long and be constant (daily driver) so an older auto is ideal left at 10w-30 ~ above average.I"ve talked to too plenty of mechs on this and also the 5w-30 recomended (80"s 1st gen s-10) is really geared toward vehicle break-in periods. 10W-30 is what is recomended after the point.Hell, I"ve heard part mechs say "over 190k miles? - 10w-40 in summer, 10w-30 in winter (depending on typical area/climate).You didn"t list her model/year though, you should always do that. And also how cold is "cold"?How hot is "hot" (average weather)? exactly how leaky is leaky? This info relates.
