While there has actually been no responce to this thread, I found http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937477/en-usappears correct, in my situation I can conveniently clear the problem by killing and also restarting explorer.exe from job manager.

There is a an easy workaround:

1. Go to Network and also Sharing Center

2. (at the left side) choose "Change network map settings"

3. Right-click her VPN connection icon, and choose "Connect".
