To think I graduated high school as soon as this thing was built! :fing20: Hey Joe, I"m not sure what all the technical names for the belts are, however it"s the one that runs to the deck and also then goes to the back where the motor is. Is the transmission belt the one that makes it move? Whichever one, considering that it"s fallen off and is exceptionally loose, the tractor barely moves once I put it in gear. Thanks for the help! And for the welcome Jim. Jen

By George thats it! I feel so stupid. I have the right to change the belt on my Land also Rover yet I can"t change the belt on this darn tractor. New animal and guess I"m just playing chicken with it.Seeing the "spring loaded arm" (thank you so much for naming these bits and pieces) I recognize tright here has actually obtained to be a way to readjust the anxiety and obtain this belt tightened up enough to drive. A suggest in the right direction on how to execute this would certainly be lovely. I got a purty freshly sharpened blade to go back on this point and also I"ll show that grass what I"m made of!

Jen, the belt is "self adjusting" if you are obtaining complete activity of all linkages as soon as you communicate the blade belt, and the spring loaded arm is relocating freely, and the spring is not damaged, then it"s time for a new belt for the deck.Deere part # m112006

That"s Joe. I can not see if the spring is broken or not but the spring loaded arm was incredibly basic pumelted in by hand also. Sound like I still need a belt?Does the owners hand-operated have instruction on just how to adjust this belt? I don"t have the hands-on but I see them come up on ebay every now and also then. Of course, by the time I win one it will be fall! rofl Ughh, trying to store a great feeling of humor about it.
Even with the belt off you have to have actually a fair amount of tension on the arm if you pull it earlier via your hand also. Owners hands-on a lot of likely will not have instructions for the replacement. That would certainly be in the technology hands-on which would certainly be pricey to purchase on a mower that old. It"s a pretty right forward project to rearea. You have the right to carry out it! Does every little thing feel prefer it"s moving once you pull the lever to rotate the deck on?? Still wondering if you"re not having trouble there?

simply make sure it (the belt) is on the correct side of the belt guides or you will certainly smell burning rubber
Thanks for the vote of confidence! My father in regulation came over a few weeks ago to look at it considering that he"s reexhausted and has actually more time than me. He is incredibly handy chap and he asserted that he couldn"t do it.As soon as this 110 degree weather is gone, I"ll flip the ole girl over and watch if I can not number it out.I"ll report back and also probably even take some pics while I"m doing it and also create a small how-to overview to post.Wish me luck!
Finally cooler weather has hit and I"m starting on the mower.Does anyone know if I need to take the deck off to change the belts?
Joe, i"m brand spanking new to this forum and also have just readjusted the deck belt on my freshly purchased RX75, below goes;First, I lifted the rear tyres up onto a couple of cprices to give some room.2nd, reduced the deck to it"s lowest position.Third, take a peek from the left side of the beastern at the rear top deck plate and you have to view an arm sitting on a pin and secured in location by a break-up pin.4th, rerelocate the pin and wiggle the deck ***"y free of the pin.Now you will certainly have the ability to path the belt around the totality deck support ***"y and also roughly the respective pulleys.Hope that helps !
